• Notes

  Early on in his 20's he was managing a grocery store in Wisbech with a housemaid and a cook, but had a fairly irrascible temperament in that he tended to fall out with his employers and he was not good with money. My grandmother claimed to have moved 17 times and had a visit from the bailiffs on two occasions. I can not fully document all 17 moves but there were certainly a lot and after a life of mangaging stores in many places, he did not have much to show for it [6]
