Note on Husband: James BYRNE

Not known when or why came over from Ireland. Presumably part of the mass movement of labour to the Widnes area in the mid-1800s.

He is given as a chemical labourer in 1881 census, living at 14 Oakland Street, Widnes. They have a family of three and have also adopted a Sarah J. Tool (10) who may be the same one as is given in the Skipton Workhouse census record of 1881 (q.v.).2
